Carnival Time in Krm

Hi everyone

Happy Chinese New Year, its been lovely to have the students back after the break. This week we have had great fun together and the students were so pleased to see each other and share their holiday news. Thank you to Alessandra and Zamrooda for the wonderful Italian Carnival we celebrated in class. The students loved the presentation made by Clotilde's older sister Carlotta, colouring their masks, eating italian treats and blowing the streamers.

The class have been sharing their ideas on how to fill other peoples buckets and we have had lots of things to share. We have been encouraging the students to share kind words and think about how they can make others feel special.

We have enjoyed exploring in class and in the pod area and as always the creativity in KrM is never ending. In KrM we have a new discovery carpet and thinking cushions as we decided that we needed a larger space to discover together. We have been inspired by Anaika's passion for Arts and Craft and we are looking forward to creating different kinds of puppets that Anaika discovered in her information book. Today we shared our passion projects with our Grade 3 buddies and they were very impressed with the students thinking.

In maths we have been considering what we would like to measure and there have been some super suggestions of things to measure at home and in school. We have all been sharing ways to make different numbers and also ways to help us to remember and feel which way around our numbers go. The class often call me Mrs Muddle and we have all been working on our number formation to stop any number muddles in KrM! This week we had a 100 square challenge to think about why numbers are in a certain place. The students have brought home their hundred square to have fun with at home. This could be used as a game board, guess the number I'm thinking of by giving clues and also using a dice to count on and back. Have fun playing with numbers :)

Swimming has been a highlight this week and we were very impressed that many of the students met their getting changed challenge of 5 minutes. On Monday we have the K2 Adventure Games, 10.30-11.30. Please remember that the class need to come to school in their P.E kits and have their water bottle. Feel free to come and join in the fun.

Smili and Bobby are excited to go home with Emilyn and Luisa.

Have a lovely weekend
Thanks
Mrs M & Ms Sally
