Hi everyone
We have really switched on our thinking in KrM and have enjoyed focussing on our reading and writing goals this week. It has been great to see the students selecting class library books to share at home alongside their 'Just Right' books and they are enjoying using a range of reading strategies in their reading times. Our Recycling Super Heroes have been writing messages for everyone to take action and the class enjoyed sharing their ideas.
In our Discovery Times this week we have extended our chocolate machine to include a factory, shop and transport. These collaborative times have drawn on many maths skills as the students have built cities and aircrafts using blocks too. In our maths sessions we have also been exploring tens and ones and breaking down numbers together very nicely.
We had great fun manipulating clay with Ms Marija this week. The students had lots of questions about where clay came from and we discovered that the fast drying clay we were using was made of lots of paper as well. We have been thinking about ways to find out more and how we could research into clay further! Here is a short video showing our time using clay, recycled materials and also creating our Recycling Superheroes too.
Thank you to Shilpa, Rini, Surabhi and Unmish who helped with the wonderful Diwali activities on Thursday. This was a lovely celebration time in class and the students clearly enjoyed many a class rangoli pattern, creating lamps and making henna designs with felt tips. The story of Diwali that Anaika's dad shared was great fun too. Here is a peek into the fun in KrM this week during our Diwali celebrations.
Next week is a short week as it is a non school day on Monday 9th as the teachers have a Professional Training Day and everyone will be off school on Tuesday for the Diwali celebrations.
Smili and Bobby are looking forward to their adventures with Emma and Aarav. Have a lovely long weekend and we look forward to seeing all the bright smiles in KrM on Wednesday.
