Hi everyone
It has been lots of fun investigating shapes this week. We have been hiding shapes in paper bags for our friends to guess with only five questions about the faces, sides, edges, corners, point etc being allowed to be asked about the 2D and 3D shapes. We have also been finding shapes around school and incorporating shapes into our pictures too. Try to make a tangram at home, we had fun with this challenge!
Our author visit this week has really inspired our story writing. We thought about questions that we would like to ask the author before the talk. It was great to hear how she found ideas for her books, where she likes to write and the time she sets aside to write. We have started our stories and will be fixing them to make them even better for the all the readers who enjoys them.
This week we have continued developing our skills of observational drawing using different media. The class explored chalk and how this feels different than drawing and shading with a pen or a pencil. In our class we have a media area to explore drawing using many different materials. It is lovely seeing our artists at work :)
We had great fun in our swimming sessions with Ms Maureen and Mr Zai. The water play treat at the end of the unit was a wonderful celebration for the class. Next Friday is Spirit Day in the Primary School, 18th March. This event has been organised by the Student Council to build the community spirit in our school. We will all be dressing up to show the job we would like to have or who we would like to be when we are older. It might be fun to make your costume at home as we are very creative in KrM :)
Thank you to Aarav's mum for the ice cream creations this week, they were delicious! We have had fun playing word games with Emma's mum and our word thinking is getting stronger. We finished a lovely week with a super passion talk from Kimaaya's dad all about sport.
This weekend Smili and Bobby are off to have fun with Milo and Clotilde.
Have a wonderful weekend
Thanks
Mrs M & Ms Sally
